Developed by a veterinarian, the AVID® microchip is safe, permanent and takes only
seconds to administer. The tiny injectable "chip" contains a one-of-a-kind
identification number and is recognized worldwide.

A special scanner is used to read the microchip through the skin of the animal. The
animal feels nothing as the chip's number quickly appears in the scanner's viewing
window. With a phone call, the registered chip can be traced back to the purchaser if
necessary.

Each microchip contains a unique number. Think of it as an injectable social security
number for the animal. Chip numbers are registered to you upon purchase. Your
records will indicate which animal has which chip.

OWNERSHIP
The Avid Equine I.D. Microchip number is unique and unalterable. Registered in a national database,
the chip identifies the horse....and connects it with the owner. With the Avid chip "inside" there is
never any doubt about ownership.

DISASTER RECOVERY
Avid has supplied universal scanners to National Emergency Preparedness groups in the US. Trained
personnel work directly with law enforcement in charge. Horses are rescued and placed in temporary
pens. The Avid chip provides the fastest means for instant owner contact in the event of disaster.

THEFT OR LOSS
Law enforcement agencies view microchips as analogous to VIN #s.......making them court worthy
permanent ID. Avid has supplied universal scanners to the USDA equine slaughter facilities. Many
auctions are scanning all horses passing through sales. Metal signs,alerting visitors to microchipped
horses on premises, are also available from Avid Equine ID.

GENETICS & INTERNAL MANAGEMENT
The Avid chip is the perfect identifying number for all records, charts and procedures having to do
with a patient. Confusing color or trait similarities is no longer an issue. Genetics and DNA are backed
up by the "instant ID" of a microchip. Large numbers of horses penned together can be easily worked,

HORSE REGISTRATION & EVENTS
Some registries microchip identification, some recommend it, most include the chip number on
registration papers. The chip number can be scanned and documented with blood typing and DNA
profiles for positive instant ID. Chip numbers can be correlated with event performance history.
Microchips are required for CERT. certification.

GOVERNMENT AND REGULATORY
